Everything guests ask us about staying, working, and surfing at WaveCeylon — plus general questions about remote work and digital nomad life on Sri Lanka's south coast.
Coliving is shared living built for community: a private bedroom of your own, plus shared kitchen, living room, and common areas you share with the household. At WaveCeylon we have five private rooms, a shared kitchen (Prana) and living room (Agni), and a dedicated coworking area, all under one roof in Midigama, Sri Lanka. See our full guide to coliving in Sri Lanka for how spaces across the south coast compare.
Yes. Alongside coliving, WaveCeylon has a calm coworking area with fast wifi, desks, and backup power for outages — built for video calls and focused work, and for working alongside other remote workers, freelancers, and founders staying in the house.
We're installing fibre internet with backup power ahead of our November 2026 opening, built for video calls and uploads, not just checking email. We'll publish exact speeds and specs on this page closer to opening.
Yes — WaveCeylon is built for longer stays. Coliving works best for guests staying weeks to months, not just a night or two, and longer stays typically get better rates. Join the waitlist for exact pricing once bookings open.
Yes, our shared kitchen Prana is open to every guest for cooking, coffee, and shared meals. It's one of the social hubs of the house alongside our living room, Agni.
Yes. Sri Lanka offers an affordable cost of living, warm year-round climate, direct flights from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and a growing remote-work community concentrated on the south coast around Ahangama, Weligama, and Midigama.
Most nationalities can enter Sri Lanka with an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) and extend their stay from within the country. Sri Lanka has also been discussing dedicated digital nomad visa options. This isn't legal advice — check current requirements with Sri Lankan immigration or your embassy before booking.
The stretch from Ahangama through Midigama to Weligama is Sri Lanka's main hub for digital nomads and surfers, with a growing mix of coworking spaces, cafes, and coliving houses. Midigama sits right in the middle of it, quieter than its neighbours but close to everything.
Yes. Midigama is a small surf village between Ahangama and Weligama with uncrowded breaks, a walkable centre, and beach access minutes away, while still being a short scooter ride from the cafes, coworking spots, and nightlife of both neighbouring towns.
Weligama is roughly 10–15 minutes from Midigama by scooter or tuk-tuk, a few kilometres along the coast road.
Ahangama is roughly 5–10 minutes from Midigama by scooter or tuk-tuk, making it an easy trip for coworking cafes or a change of scenery.
Midigama has some of Sri Lanka's best-known breaks right on the doorstep — Lazy Left, Lazy Right, Rams, Plantations, and more — with Weligama Bay and Mirissa a short ride away. See our full spot-by-spot surf guide for details on each break.
Bandaranaike International Airport is roughly 2.5–3 hours by car. Take the southern expressway and exit at Galle or Matara, then head toward the Midigama Clock Tower — we're about five minutes from there. Search "WaveCeylon Coliving and Co working" in Google Maps for directions.
WaveCeylon opens in November 2026. We're currently taking waitlist registrations for early access to rooms and launch offers.
WaveCeylon is a drug-free, inclusive home. We don't tolerate discrimination, harassment, or exclusion of any kind, and we ask every guest to treat shared spaces and the local Midigama community with respect. See our About page for the full picture.
