We are guests in Midigama. WaveCeylon exists to bring people together without labels, without barriers while honouring the community that was here long before us.
WaveCeylon is built on the rhythms of work, surf, heal, and create.
But none of that matters if we do not show up with care. The value of being here comes from the connections you make: with the ocean, with your neighbours, and with the village around you.
We want you to leave with stronger skills, new friends, and a deeper respect for Sri Lanka. That starts with how we treat every person who walks through our door — and every person we meet outside it.

This is a home, not a hotel. Respect each other's quiet and personal space.
Keep common areas — kitchen, lounge, bathroom — clean as if they were yours. Ease off loud music and late-night noise; the village wakes early, and so might your housemates.
Midigama is not a backdrop — it is someone's home. We are committed to giving more than we take: hiring from the village, buying from neighbourhood shops, and partnering with local surf schools, tuk drivers, and small businesses.
Sri Lanka carries deep traditions — Buddhist temples, modest dress, quiet mornings, and a pace of life that rewards patience. We ask every guest to arrive curious, not entitled.
Cover shoulders and knees. Remove shoes where asked. Keep voices low. Photography only when permitted. These small acts show the respect this country deserves.
Midigama is a working village — families, schools, roosters at dawn. We move through it quietly on scooters, greet neighbours with a smile, and never treat it like a theme park.
The beach is our home. We reduce waste, recycle what we can, and join regular cleanups along the coast. Leave every spot better than you found it.
Try the food, learn a few words in Sinhala or Tamil, ask before you photograph people, and listen more than you lecture. The best travellers are humble guests.
